There are many times when stagers must work with specific items in a home . Our Portland staging company recently staged this Canby home that was custom built in the 90's. This lovely home had been freshly painted, had a great layout and was vacant. Almost vacant...
The owners of this home requested that the custom window treatments stay. As a result we had to ensure that the furnishings in the home tied in well with the treatments yet modernized and minimized them as much as possible.

David: You did a great job of respecting the home owner's wishes, yet doing your job as a home stager. I am about to embark on a project with similar "challenges".
Oh yes. Those are the times that you take a deep breath and blow out the urge to try and change things. You did a fabulous job with this prop. Very elegant and you really don't notice the window treatments with your staging... but you sure would if it was vacant.
Hi David, Very nice staging, as always! I'm glad that the window treatments were white instead of a busy floral pattern. We just previewed a home for staging that had a huge stone fireplace in the living room, plus cornice boxes with floral fabric and yellow sheer draperies. Fortunately, the son in charge of selling the home for his parents took our advice and removed the dated curtains and cornice boxes and is repairing and repainting the wall.
The furniture works well with the existing window treatments. Excellent job!
Yes David...it happens and you give your best! Not every job is picture perfect...and those window swags always make me cringe. Just as long as you are not convincing the homeowners to 'add' them for staging effect...you are decidely sane! : )
Window treatments? What window treatments? I hardly noticed them, because I was so fixated on your beautiful staging job. Love that painting over the fireplace, and the textured chair in the living room.

You did another great job, David! These dated window treatments show up way too often in my neck of the woods. Homeowners can't take them with them because they are custom. It's a good thing I love a challenge! At least the ones you had to deal with were fairly neutral. What if they had been harvest gold and rust? Now THERE'S a fun challenge!! LOL
David - you did a great job. didn't look like you struggled at all! yes, i have been there on the challenges but it makes each project different, doesn't it!! Kudos to you for working it out!!
