It's been a busy month - both with home staging and other outside projects. It's time to get back into the groove of blogging again.
Thought we'd start by sharing some photos of a house that we recently staged in the Forest Heights neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. Synergy Staging was brought in to help this home sell quickly as it had been on the market vacant with no offers. While we always recommend staging a home before it hits the market, it is never too late to make a home show it's absolute best. The tri-level aspect of this home makes it a bit more challenging for potential buyers with the large amount of steps, so creating a feeling of luxury and sophistication was important.
Here are some before and after photos:

Even in this challenging market, homes that are presented well, priced right, and professionally staged are selling quickly. This year our staging has typically been in a home for less than one month before an offer is accepted. Call a professional home stager in your area to get the results you are looking for!

Top right looked way bigger without the furniture.
David....glad your back and this place does look GORGEOUS!!!! What a BIG difference....love the black/white accents...it looks very chic and sophisticated!
Very nice...and you're right, elegance sells!
David-I'm glad you're back too. You have absolutely gorgeous accessories. I especially love the black side chairs with the white cushions in the living room.
Regarding Andrew's comment about the room looking bigger without the furniture ... some of those wide angle lenses do that. Then you go to the home and are disapointed that the room is not as big as it looks in the photo. The picture with the furniture puts everything in perspective. Good job David.
Great job and the photos are lovely...love the black and white office...great staging
I am so glad that you are marketing this for your realtor! Wonderful staging that adds to a warm and welcome feeling for buyers. I hope more realtors in your area see this because you are staging their competition!
Another beautiful job David.
Good to see you back in the Rain, David! You and Nik did a great job showcasing this home's best features. How could any buyer get excited looking at photos of empty rooms? It's great that home staging seems to be growing ever more popular here in Portland!
You're right David. The home is gorgeous, and even more so due to your staging. I love those side chairs in the living room too.
David, I love the pieces you used! You really set off the homes features.
Hi David, Very nice job, as always! I like how you used the ottomans with the side chairs in the living room to show the expanse of this room, but made it feel cozy. Often times those large rooms are more of a staging challenge than very tiny rooms.
Hi David! Took a look at your photos and you did a wonderful job!!
Andrew ~ While it may have looked bigger, the vacant room is deceptive for potential buyers who may be disappointed to find the room is not exactly what they expected. Having the room furnished gives a proper perspective to those coming to look at the house.
Kathy ~ Thanks! Hope to share some more recent stagings this week!
Li ~ Making a property show it's best is very important in effectively marketing a home.
Kathy ~ Those are some of our favorite chairs - with just the right styling to work in many designs.
Leanne ~ Totally agree - I think my answer to him (before I read your comment) show we're on the same page!
Mary Lou - Thank you!
Lori ~ Thanks for your comments. Big fan of your work!
Sharon ~ Appreciate your feedback.
Maureen ~ No one can get excited by empty rooms - it's our (fun) job to make the house appeal to potential buyers, especially in photos. Let's hope the trend in Portland continues!!!
Michelle ~ Thank you - staging with just the right furniture makes a room come together so much easier, doesn't it?
Janice ~ Thanks!
Diana ~ You're right that a large space can be challenging, especially if you want to break it into smaller settings. The ottoman's help all the furnishings feel more connected. Glad you liked it!
Suzanne ~ Thanks!
In a word, "Beautiful!"
Congratulations. Your home staging is being featured in the group Staging Before and After Pictures.
Kathy
David,
What beautiful work YOU do! I love how you have positioned your before and afters side by side in this post...very effective and can really show Realtors and sellers the difference staging can make on a vacant for their Internet marketing! BRAVO!
Kathy ~ I always appreciate your comments - and thank you for the feature!
Michelle ~ Thanks for your feedback. I hope that Realtors and sellers can see the impact that staging has on a vacant property. We all know the difference it makes!
lovely job! I'm sure it will show so much better!!
David, congratulations - these look great. Nice job! It's amazing how much better one can visualize when a vacant room is staged and receives character. No wonder that vacant homes sell faster once they are staged. Very nicely done.
Melissa ~ Thank you. A professionally staged home will always show better than a vacant home!
Birgit ~ Staging absolutely helps buyers visualize the potential of a space so they don't have to guess and wonder what it could be. It also helps them connect emotionally to a property which is much harder when it is vacant. Thanks for your comments.
Haven't been on AR in a while. See your work and think you rock! Great job.
