Synergy Staging recently staged a lovely home in the Beaumont neighborhood of Portland, Oregon. The owners had done a wonderful job of preparing the house for sale but it needed some finishing touches to make it just right.
The living room is very cozy, and their couch and television take up much of the space. By bringing in a low profile tv stand and a rug with muted tones that pick up the colors of the room, the space is more inviting. We also placed a mirror above the fireplace which now brings the focus of the buyers to the architectural feature in the room.

Needless to say, the apple green office was not going to be the best color choice for potential buyers. By painting a neutral color and removing the vivid colors, the room is more soothing and now can also be seen as a possible space for a guest to stay.

The dining room previously had a large table and china hutch that were overpowering the room. By bringing in a smaller table and using the owners chairs, the room is opened up and feels more inviting. The curtains were also removed which really brightened the space.

Nice changes David in this occupied home. Removing that green paint made a big difference in the mood of the office, and removing the window coverings really opened up the dining room. Nice photos too!
David: What a great transformation for a small bungalo. Now if we can only get your clients to agree on painting their lawns green, then the house would look dynamite... LOL... It is starting to COOL DOWN.. I never thought 95 would seem cool....
Maureen ~ Thanks. The green was a favorite color of the owner, but they knew this would need to be changed for a sale.
Todd ~ Not many of us have green lawns in Portland right now! But the green would be nice - there's always photoshop =) See you soon!
David, once again you guys at Synergy have done a beautiful job with your staging. Even a modest home with a brown lawn can be transformed with your work. The Dining Room is especially appealing to me. The size of the table makes a huge difference and removing those distracting curtains makes the room appear twice as large.
BTW, there is a a spray-on product that you can use on lawns to "green" them up. It can be used on the whole lawn, but I like to recommend it for doggie spots. It is basically some sort of organic green spray. Look for it at Petsmart.
Kathy ~ It's amazing the difference the right table can make in a dining room. The homeowners loved it and wondered why they hadn't made a change years ago!
David,
I enjoyed seeing the changes you made. So simple yet so impactful! Very good job on an occupied staging - they can really be challenging.
Mel
I love before and afters - this is great - good job!
Mel ~ Thanks for your comments. Sometimes simple is all it takes!
Malita ~ Thank you!
